* The CUNY Honors College at Lehman, launched in Fall 2002, enrolls 43 students.
* The Lehman Scholars Program, in its third decade, enrolls 180 students annually.
* The student-produced “Inside Lehman” won a Telly Award; Honorable Mention, Alliance for Community Media’s Northeast Regional competition; and the 2005 Communicator Award of Excellence.

NYS Teaching Exams (2003-2004)

* 98% pass rate on both the LAST (Liberal Arts & Science Test) and the ATS-W (Academic Teachers’ Skill–Written)

New Programs (2005)

* Master’s degrees in Social Work (Fall 2005) and Public Health (Spring 2006). Planned master’s degree in Educational Leadership, graduate programs in two additional fields of Nursing, and a certificate in Teaching the Gifted and Talented (2006-2007).

Lehman Online

* From one course in Spring 1997, the program grew to 64 courses in Spring 2006. In Spring 2006, Lehman is offering more asynchronous courses (taught completely online) than any other CUNY college.

High School Partnerships (2006)

* Astor Collegiate HS; Bronx Health Sciences HS; Bronx HS for the Visual Arts; Celia Cruz Bronx HS of Music; HS of American Studies at Lehman College; HS of Teaching and the Professions; Marie Curie HS of Nursing, Medicine & Allied Health Professions; and School for Community Research & Learning.

New Facilities (2002-2004)

* Biology computer lab; geographic information science lab; interactive language lab; HS of American Studies; main entrance at Gate Five; marine biology lab; multimedia lecture hall; multimedia radio studio; plant signal transduction research lab; and speech and hearing clinic.

Funded Programs (2005)

* Lehman faculty pursued significant scientific research under a SCORE grant from the National Institutes of Health. Among the projects were: “Organization of Memory in Nonhuman Primates” ($481,564); “Offspring of Outpatients with Dysthymic Disorder: Outcomes and Mediators of Risk” ($313,668); “Detection of Dementia in Elderly with Low Education: Motor vs. Memory Measures” ($252,669); “Age Difference in Second Language Acquisition” ($246,801); “Regulation of Maize Pro-Vitamin A Carotenoid Biosynthesis” ($243,837); “A Study of Metal Sequestering and Release from Microbes” ($207,009); “Antihypertensive Mechanisms of Metformin” ($149,319); and “Semantic Memory Processing Deficits in Alzheimer’s Disease” ($55,502).
